Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Day Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Day is an annual observance held on February 12. It was launched by the Public Health Agency of Canada and is mainly observed in Canada, but some other countries (for example, India) celebrate it, too.

Sexual and reproductive health (SRH) is a broad area encompassing a great variety of interrelated issues and challenges. It implies that people of gender identities ought to be informed of and to have access to appropriate heath hare services, birth control, and health education programs.

Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Day aims to raise awareness about sexual and reproductive health issues. Main SRH issues include complications related to pregnancy and childbirth, unavailability of modern contraception in certain parts of the world, female genital mutilation still practiced in some countries, sexually transmitted diseases, teenage pregnancy, unsafe abortion, infertility, etc.

Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Day events and activities include (but are not limited to) conferences, lectures, social media contests, breakfasts and luncheons, free counseling etc. They focus on educating a wide audience about STIs, contraception, pregnancy, abortions, infertility, puberty, menopause, etc., and removing popular misconceptions about sex.
