National Volunteer Day in Ghana National Volunteer Day (NVDay) in Ghana is celebrated on September 21. It was established by the GhanaThink Foundation, a non-governmental, non-profit organization that aims to promote volunteerism and volunteer activities.

Ghana's National Volunteer Day coincides with Founder's Day, a national holiday dedicated to the first President of Ghana Kwame Nkrumah. The observance aims to raise awareness of the importance of volunteerism and encourage more Ghanians to participate in volunteer activities for the benefit of their local communities and Ghana as a nation.

On National Volunteer Day, GhanaThink coordinates numerous voluntary events and activities held across the country. They include (but are not limited too) blood donation, tree planting, free tutoring, mentoring and teaching, clean-up events, health screenings, orphanage visits, kid career fairs, etc. Any interested group, organization or individual can register their event at NVDay website.

Every year, GhanaThink Foundation tries to increase the number of people who participate in National Volunteer Day in order to build a bigger network of volunteers who will contribute to community development.
