International Astrology Day Date in the current year: March 20, 2016

International Astrology Day International Astrology Day is annually observed on spring equinox. It can be celebrated by the astrologers and enthusiasts between March 19 and 22, though the most frequent dates are March 20 and 21.

Spring equinox marks the beginning of a new astrological year. It's also the first day of the astrological sign of Aries, thus the beginning of the tropical Zodiac.

Spring equinox plays a great importance for many counties and nations, as it marks the beginning of spring and new year (for the Persians). It's the day, when day and night are equal. This is connected to the phenomena, when the sun rays fall vertically on the equator, and the Sun transits from the southern hemisphere to the northern.

Celebration of International Astrology Day started by the Association for Astrological Networking in 1993. This holiday replaced their previous observation Astrology Awareness Weekends. The spring equinox in the northern hemisphere was chosen as the day for celebration, since this day is one of the most important for astrology and astronomy.
