Go Skateboarding Day Date in the current year: June 21, 2024

IASC is a non-profit organization, that aims to popularize skateboarding as a leisure activity. It established Go Skateboarding Day to encourage skateboarders around the world to dedicate more time to their hobby. It also organizes competitions and does everything possible to attract new people to this activity.

The first celebration of Go Skateboarding Day took place in 2004. It's believed, that the name of this event derives from the sign “No Skateboarding”, that is often changed to “Go Skateboarding” by local skaters. Since the first celebration this event received Special Congressional Recognition from the US Congress for promoting the sports of skateboarding.

Nowadays this event is celebrated by all skaters around the world. Every year 5boro Skateboarders organize the biggest celebration of Go Skateboarding Day in New York. This event attracts thousands of skaters and it's considered to be the largest single gathering of skateboarders in the world.
