Petroleum Industry and Geology Workers' Day in Turkmenistan Petroleum Industry and Geology Workers' Day is an official professional day in Turkmenistan, that is observed every year on December 14. This holiday was established by President of Turkmenistan in 2010 to celebrate the anniversary of placing the Central Asia-China gas pipeline into operation.

Petroleum Industry and Geology Workers' Day is dedicated to all people who are employed in the petroleum industry of Turkmenistan. These high skilled professionals were responsible for construction of the Central Asia-China pipeline. Implementation of this project enlarged the energy exports of Turkmenistan eastwards. The total length of the pipeline is 1,139 mi (1,883 km), 117 mi (188 km) of which run on the territory of Turkmenistan.

Earlier the workers of petroleum industry, geologists and power engineers celebrated their common holiday on the second Saturday in September. After introduction of Petroleum Industry and Geology Workers' Day as an independent holiday, the power engineers celebrate their own holiday on the same date.
