Bank Workers' Day in Armenia Date in the current year: November 22, 2024

Bank Workers' Day in Armenia Bank Workers' Day is one of the official professional days in Armenia. It was established by the Government of Armenia in 2003 to mark the 10th anniversary of the introduction of the dram, the national currency in Armenia.

After declaration of independence from the Soviet Union in 1991 Armenia used the rubles. The Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia was founded only in March 1993 and only then the first steps towards introduction of a new currency were made. The Soviet rubles were in circulation for other 6 months, till the current national currency was introduced on November 22.

Transition to the national currency gave Armenia an opportunity to establish its own financial and banking system and develop state economy. Introduction of the Armenian dram became one of the most important steps for approval of the economic independence of Armenia.

Armenian bank employees officially celebrate this day and accept congratulations on this event. The government and local authorities express gratitude for all bank employees.
